The Blend is a Long Island band that features mainly dance music from the 50’s to current popular dance hits. But, don’t be surprised to hear pop classics that you love to sing along to!
The main idea for The Blend was to bring together a mix from some of Long Islands greatest bands. Such as That 70’s Band, 45rpm, The Touch and more. The Blend doesn’t just stick to one genre , but the best of all genres! Even some country tunes!!
Founder Joey Mac had the band concept for few years. When he met Rachel while playing for another band, he thought “ this is the lead singer I’ve been hoping for!” Bob joined shortly there after and The Blend was formed!
Rachel Jarvis has been singing for 15+ years with a few local bands like The Usual Suspects, Chosen Few, Shock Wave, Mach5 and others until The Blend came together. You can still hear her filling in for Cruise Control, Powerhouse, Hard drive and others here and there. Her musical influences vary from The Supremes to Donna Summer.
Joey Mac is the band leader as well as the drummer/singer. Joey grew up a huge Elvis fan. He Loves the oldies and disco. He’s also a Progressive Rock fan and digs Rush, Styx, Kansas and others. His eclectic taste in music keeps the band setlists exciting!! Joey also currently playing with The John Jason band.
Rachel and Joey can also be heard as a duo for small dinner crowds in bars and restaurants.
Bob Daniels can be seen and heard on bass/vocals for the Blend. Bob fronted a popular Rush tribute band aptly call Rush Hour. His influences are Progressive rock to the likes of Rush, Yes and Dream Theater to Classic Rock, Disco and more… Bob is involved with many other Local Acts such as Backtrax, and Time Machine and various Rush Jams, he can also be found subbing in for other local popular bands as time permits.
Bri Bro joined The Blend as a featured guitarist in the summer of 2021. Brian is a jazz/fusion guitarist who can also been seen playing often with Trade Winds, The Mikki May Band and other notable bands. Although not an original member, Brian makes the band complete with his smooth groovy sounds.
